Hi, Sue- I've most enjoyed your writing about place, nature, and gardening, so I welcome more of that! How excellent to focus your attention fully in that space.
A wonderful dive into your explorations and revelations, Sue. The questions posed by Sarah Fay are well worth considering, and I will be doing so. This is exciting; you've discovered your very own pathway ahead! Very much looking forward to traveling it with you through your words and images💚
Recalculation can be a gift, and you seem to be a woman whose purpose and passion allow for receiving the gift. I have been inspired, influenced and delighted by your writing, and I know that I will read your new Substack with as much interest as I read this one. A threshold moment for you that only deserves encouragement, support and applause. I love your sense of passion and purpose, and share in your vision of nature as the great healer. The world needs writers like you. Thank you, Sue. Sign me a friend and a forever fan . . . stephanie XO
So happy about your new direction. Your animal and nature blogs were always the most interesting to me. I read the aging ones but not with enthusiasm. Looking forward to your work. From another Gorge person who loves nature immensely
Kudos to you, Sue, for recognizing that you weren't pursuing your deepest interests and passions. It sounds like working with Janisse and then Sarah have helped you remember your roots, as it were, (pun intended), and I am happy for you. I look forward to reading your offerings under For the Love of Nature. Many blessings to you!
Thank you, Susan. Yes, working with Janisse and Sarah helped make sense of my internal grumblings and lack of enthusiam. And your own commitment to terraphilia is inspiring.
Terraphilia is my passion, and it brings together the various threads of my life's work, so writing about it--broadly--is not hard for me to sustain. Of course, we change over the years, so it may not always be my focus. Sarah advised me strongly not to use it in my title because it's not a word anyone knows. I kept it because it encapsulates what I'm about. :)
Aging compresses time and lends greater urgency to our lives, so congratulations on embracing what is better aligned with your core identity and values.
I think that this means *you're* the creative late bloomer. I don't know why creativity itself wouldn't be continuing as it's still part of who you are. Personally, I have a pretty endless interest in plants, garden, and nature. This shift may just suit me more, too.

Thanks for sharing your thinking in making this adjustment. I can’t wait to follow along!
Thank you, Mary! I am excited and already have a long list of topics to write about.
I love this opening up to new vistas, Sue! Wholly supportive and I look forward to learning from what you share. 💚

Thank you, Jenny. Sarah's questions were exactly what I needed to help direct my focus.

Thank you for your kind comments and encouragement, Stephanie! You started my morning off beautifully.
You got this! Big hugs.
Always a pleasure reading your thoughts. Had a great time with the bottle of wine! I needed the
talk and release of my brain.
It doesn't feel like work if you love it!
So true! My primary complaint is I don't have the energy levels of my youth to do all that I want to do. Thanks for your support, Chris!
This sounds great, a natural next step/return. Glad you’re going with it!!
Thank you, Jim. It is nice to be back "home."
Congratulations on digging in and finding what you really light up for and about. Will enjoy reading as you dive in. Enjoy.
Thank you, Kim.

Indeed, aging does narrow the focus of how we want to spend our days! Thank you, Ginger.

Creativity is very much part of my life and interests so I won't be eliminating it from my writing. Thanks for your comment and support.
With you all the way, Sue! Thanks for sharing your journey.
