How about recommending some books that are cheerful and interesting? We live with so much sadness everyday.

I am sorry that you don't find my book selection interesting. I found all four of these books fascinating and two were incredibly inspiring. But reading choices are deeply personal.

While I agree that there is great sadness in the world, I seek to understand and learn more about the world, nature and humans - warts and all. Thanks for reading and your comment.

Hi Sue,

So sorry to hear you got Covid... Hope you heal swiftly and completely!

I always find your newsletters interesting and appreciate the information you share. I thought you would appreciate the book I'm reading (If you haven't read it yet): "Becoming Vegetalista" by Stephen Buhner. It is not like any of his other books; very autobiographical about his journey with the plants. It is the last book and the last thing he wrote before he died. I appreciate him sharing his story.

Love to you! Maryam

Hi Maryam,

So nice to hear from you! And thank you for your kind words.

I am a big fan of Buhner's writing - have several of his books. I meant to order Vegetalista but then it got forgotten. Thanks for the reminder. He is a tremendous loss but left a wonderful legacy of thinking.

These all sound like excellent books! My online book club has just started reading Wild Spectacle - wonderful.

Commiserations with Covid. I had it last December for the first time; I hope to avoid future bouts, as it was not a fun experience. Hope your improvement continues rapidly.

Wonderful that your book club is reading it!

Yes COVID is not on the fun list, for sure. I will resume mask wearing while this uptick is happening.
