Beautiful! Both the hike and your words. Thank you for bringing us along. I also look forward to the changing of the seasons, and spring and fall are my favorites, too. Being out on the land is the best way to feel better in regards to just about anything going on in our lives. It is essential. Catherine Creek looks like a neat place to hike.

The Columbia River Gorge is in wildflower bloom - if you find the time to travel up, let me know I will find a hike to do.

Thank you, Sue. It would be fun to hike a new area with you. A quick check on maps and it looks like I am about 2 1/2 hrs away, so not bad. I will see what I can arrange:)

Glorious! Thank you for taking us along on your hike and for IDing the wildflowers. And good for you for putting aside your must-do list to take care of yourself. (Which should be on your must-do list all the time!)

Sue, what an excellent hike! And good to get out there in spite of the "to-do's," etc. Our spring here in Asheville has been and is glorious, but tempered for me by my allergies - I just get out there, no mind.

It seems to me that circling back on always taking time for the natural world is what we need to do as humans. And those of us who live in places where it's easy to do that -- well, we're fortunate.

Thanks for a good post.

Thank you and yes, I have only delayed the trip, perhaps to the fall. But my house needs a roof and the garden has many projects that need to be done. Be safe and enjoy your road trip!

Thank you so much for sharing your spring break. I have lived in Washington state my whole 70 something life and not seen most of the wildflowers you have pictured. Absolutely love seeing them! And the lovely opening view above the Columbia. This is a real treat for me!
