Thank you for sharing your Samhain celebration, Sue. It is beautiful. I do not ascribe to any religions either; my religion is the religion of Nature.

April and I aren't big on rituals, but it was fun to read what you have planned for Oct. 31.

Sue, What a beautiful tie to the stars and remembering those who are gone! Bless your grandfather for giving you the gift of the night sky and a connection to those wonders. And thanks for the story of your experience with feeling sick and weak when you were camping with your family. I believe that we can feel when the people we have close connections with are in distress or transitioning from this life. Like you, I celebrate the "thinning of the veil" at this time of year, and I make a point of remembering my ancestors and departed loved ones. I am living in a temporary space for now, but once I get into my house, I will remake the altar-space I keep with mementoes of those I love who are no longer in this world. I have assembled an altar in every house I have lived in as an adult, and those memorials vary with who I am remembering at the time and what space I have to dedicate to it, but they always echo with love and laughter and tenderness. Blessings!

Sue this late October time of year always seems special to me and I thank you for your reflections of what it means to you. I am looking forward to trying the Pumpkin Pot Pie and Soul Cakes!

I had two unexpected experiences of becoming weak. Once when walking home with my groceries and the other while at home. In both cases I had to sit down while I recovered enough to get up. It turned out at both of these times. my father was fighting for his life. He had fallen from the roof of his home the first time and the second time had disturbed a nest of bees which stung him many times leaving him barely able for breath. My mother had quickly become aware of him in both cases and called 911 which is the only thing that saved him. I cannot but think that the weakness I felt on both of those occasions was my tie to him being shaken.

How interesting! I have heard of similar episodes. My mother said for years that she believed my her dad has ESP. I have had one additional event where he visited me in a dream but it was so real!
